For many years, Tersons has handled the acquisition of land and property and the sale of new homes with a fine reputation dating back to 1821.

Tersons has traditionally dealt with developers from Camber Sands through to Thanet and has developed a reputation for accurate pricing and sales advice. The amount of clients needing to use our services has increased steadily so the partners decided that a separate department solely dedicated to this specialist area should be created.

Working in conjunction with builders, developers, architects and bankers, the Land and New Homes team work very hard to get new developments to the market across Kent. New builds virtually always command a premium over the second hand market and we increasingly find that it is possible to sell a high percentage of units off-plan. The result is that all participants in the process are very happy and can look at moving on to the next project more quickly.

As with most areas of life and consumerism, quality proves to be a big issue with buyers. Our early discussions will always include a dialogue on this most important of subjects. The higher the standard of both property and marketing material, the higher the price we are able to achieve.

Our service is bespoke to the requirements of our client but often our work will include some or all of the following:

  • Site disposal
  • Site acquisition
  • Full development appraisal
  • Land valuations
  • Initial design and planning
  • Conditional contracts and option agreements
  • Introduction to social housing requirements and advice
  • Links with a comprehensive network of land agents throughout the region
  • In depth and up to date marketing advice
  • Brochure design
  • Local and national advertising
  • Local authority policies such as LE1
  • Conservation and listed building advice (our surveyor is a specialist in listed and historic buildings)

Relationships between our clients are usually long standing and always mutually beneficial. Trust is an important factor on both sides, and we aim to provide the highest level of integrity and trust-worthiness that should be expected from a professional firm of surveyors and land agents such as Tersons.
